My Long COVID story from 2025 is below. I still find it funny 😆

Want to hear a funny story?
When I first heard about Long COVID in 2023, I had a strong sense that I could help.
My background in psychology put me in a good position to help people with Long COVID and similar conditions manage common psychological symptoms such as anxiety or depression.
My experience as a qigong practitioner and teacher meant that I could help people regain some brain, breath and circulation function, as well as manage and improve energy levels.
And then I caught COVID at the end of May 2025. It took me about 3 weeks to get over it. By about 8 weeks, I was feeling better than ever.
At the start of 2026, my energy suddenly dropped.
I would spend 10 minutes weeding in my garden but then have to lie down and rest for a couple of hours afterwards. I couldn't practise qigong for more than 20 minutes at a time. I would get breathless and lightheaded walking up the 3 steps to my front door.
I told my doctor about the symptoms I'd noticed. Over about 5 months, she put me through multiple blood tests & scans. She sent me to see a cardiologist.
I'll skip to the the funny bit: On the first anniversary of me testing positive for COVID, my GP told me I had Long COVID 🤣🤣
So yeah, living with Long COVID isn't fun. But it sure helps to see the funny side.
I hope you can see the funny side of your experience too!
